Science Sam Media was founded by popular Science Communicator Samantha Yammine. Samantha earned her PhD from the University of Toronto studying how stem cells build and maintain the brain. During her PhD, she began sharing pictures and videos live from the lab on Instagram as @science.sam, and since then has become a leader in digital science engagement. In addition to her doctoral work, she was a co-author on the crowd-funded #ScientistsWhoSelfie study, which examined the effects scientists sharing selfies on Instagram could have on public perceptions of scientists. Using best practises acquired through this research and experience from the leading edge of science communication, Science Sam Media produces science content for TV, radio, and digital video platforms; runs science communication and personal branding training workshops; delivers international keynotes on fascinating topics in science; and provides consulting services for organizations looking to bring their science out of the lab and in front of communities.
