Urban Farms, Inc.
www.uvf.com.paUrban Farms (UF), was formed by Global Foods, a food production, packing and distribution company distributing various quality produce to the USA and Europe. As traditional open field and green house farmers, we experience the day-to-day problems of climate change, pathogen and insect problems, to name a few. Vertical Farms is the solution to future food production. Vertical Farms produces food in buildings under strict environmental conditions. There are serious, unavoidable problems with traditional open field farming. Farmers have to fight climate change, pathogen problems, land erosion, high costs of fuel and inputs to produce food, as well as food quality issues. With Vertical Farming, virtually all these problems are eliminated, using Hydroponic growing systems and state-of-the-art Controlled Environment Agriculture. Producing food vertically maximizes product yields, as well as healthier, nutritious, pesticide free foods for the consumer. UF is currently conducting tests and research on the viability of growing foods vertically in an enclosed building environment using no sunlight. Our initial test have proven successful and as professional farmers we believe that Vertical Farms can be economically viable and the future of farming! All food grown during the research phase is either sold at the local Supermarkets, Restaurants and/or donated to a local Christian community outreach program that feeds undernourished children.
