Originally established in 1992, Morton Street Dance Center is one of Baltimore's best and most comprehensive dance schools. Morton Street's exceptional teaching staff offers exciting, age-appropriate, developmental instruction for professional level dancers and every member of the family age 3 to adult. The youngest students study creative movement and pre-dance which offer a fun introduction to ballet and modern. Older dancers receive technical training in classical ballet, pointe, modern, tap, hip-hop, and African dance. By audition, students may be invited to join our performing Repertory ensembles. Repertory performs frequently throughout the year in venues within and beyond the Baltimore area. Morton Street students have attended various summer dance programs across the country and attended performing arts and dance magnet high schools and middle schools. Some students students have also pursued dance degrees at University of the Arts, Goucher College, Ohio University, University of Maryland, and University of Michigan, among others. Morton Street presents an immensely popular Annual Spring Concert. The school also offers a Summer Dance Intensive with renowned national and regional faculty. Morton Street Dance Center, Inc. students are supported, in part, by the Dance Foundation of Maryland, Inc. a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
