Fost Plus sees to the promotion, coordination and financing of selective collection, sorting and recycling of household packaging waste. Fost Plus is a privately held Belgian not-for-profit association founded, run, financed and controlled by the obliged companies and accredited by the Interregional Packaging Commission. Fost Plus is founded on the concept of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) whereby the obliged companies take responsibility for the end-of-life management of the products they put on the market. On behalf of its members, Fost Plus aims at an environmentally and economically sustainable recycling society. It ensures that the entire packaging chain is optimized, that packaging is developed in a more sustainable manner and that the high recycling percentages are achieved as required by law. Fost Plus encourages collaboration between all stakeholders from citizens, obliged companies and public authorities to sector federations, collecting, sorting and recycling companies as well as material manufacturers.
