The Friends is a non-profit membership organization. We invite members of our community to join us to advocate for the Boca Raton Public Library. Our mission is to support and enhance the value of the BPRL as it serves our community. Our mission is accomplished through fundraising, advocacy, quality programming, community outreach and a thriving membership. Since its incorporation in 1990, the Friends of the Boca Raton Public Library have striven to assist the library to broaden and enrich library-based services. In its first year, the Friends raised $5000 for the library; the Friends average donation to the library now is $50,000 to $60,000 per year. In addition, in 2011 the Friends bequeathed a $250,000 gift for the building of the new downtown library.
