Formed in 2006, the Institute of Place Management is the professional body and learned society for people who serve places. Membership of or partnership with the Institute demonstrates professionalism and integrity, as all Members and Partners sign a Code of Conduct that puts place first. The Institute also represents a community of scholars that are at the forefront of research and thought leadership. The Institute publishes the Journal of Place Management which is taken by over 2,000 institutions worldwide. The Institute also supports The BID Foundation, which is a membership body for Business Improvement District
