Danielle Grosbusch Artworks
www.daniellegrosbusch.comIt is in nature where I find my inspiration In my works, I create compositions of woven cloth and structures of plants. By etching the simple things, that often seem so self-evident, on copper, I aim to give them the importance they deserve. My themes are often the interwoven and connected, roots as well as branches that separate and eventually find their way back to each other. Those themes can also be found in the family trees I create, which are drawn by feather and watercolour on wood. Over the years, the colour itself has played an increasingly important role. Our scenery and landscapes foster my creativity, inspiring paintings and sketches, be it with charcoal or with acrylics and oils. When translated into prints (gravures), soul-landscapes or sometimes more minimalistic works are the result. Oftentimes, I feel between two worlds, using two techniques simultaneously and switching between meticulous and wild strokes. Nevertheless, my path as an artist always leads back to printmaking – the etching, the colourful and lush black & white of the ink. I draw the gravures on copper plates and usually use the soft ground technique, which I then print with a fondino on Salland Paper. To view my recent, but also some of my older artworks, visit my website or reach out to arrange a visit in my personal atelier.
