Saif Energy Limited (SEL) is part of the Saif Group, which is one of Pakistan’s largest industrial and services conglomerate. SEL is Pakistan’s first local private sector company to get ISO 9001:2000 certifications for Quality Management of Oil & Gas exploration and production activities. Saif Group was conceived over eighty years ago when its founder Khan Faizullah Khan, made his first industrial undertaking, a diesel fired power plant, supplying electricity to Bannu City in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (then NWFP) Pakistan. The Group has come a long way since its inception and now has operating business in Power Generation, Oil and Gas Exploration, Textiles, Real estate development, IT and Telecommunications. Saif Group employs over 10,000 people with regional offices throughout Pakistan. Saif Energy Limited was incorporated in March 2004, established pursuant to the policies of the Government of Pakistan for the development of a strong indigenous base in exploration and production sector to minimize foreign exchange outlays. Within a very short period of SEL’s existence, it acquired exploration rights over four onshore blocks and made number of Oil & Gas discoveries in Pakistan Currently, SEL is a Joint Venture Partner in Kohat Block which has made a notable commercial gas & oil discovery in the Block at Togh location which is under process of appraisal. SEL is planning to apply for new onshore blocks to further extend its exploration portfolio.
