We do Volkswagen and early Porsche restoration right - or not at all. Whether you want a bone stock "correct" classic VW restoration, or something a bit more sinister, this vintage car shop keeps the classic car classic... while kicking up the cool factor. Airkooled Kustoms is a featured builder in the Ultimate VW Build-Off, an elite builder competition in Las Vegas to be held October 1-4, 2015. Miss Mabel is a 1959 VW Beetle Ragtop, and is just one of about ten projects on the production floor right now, not counting a line of other vehicles waiting their turn to be transformed. The wait list to get into production is currently about 6-8 months. The restoration process typically takes about a year, and is extraordinarily labor-intensive as everyone touching every vehicle has an off-the-charts level of OCD, which is funneled into getting the Dubs as close to perfect as possible. We (halfway) joke that we are NEVER satisfied with a project, and only release it when we can live with its imperfections (which, by the way, any normal human being would never detect).
