Lorax Community
www.loraxcommunity.orgLorax Community exists as a way to provide educational resources to members of our community at a reasonable cost, and also to offer charitable services when needed. We are committed to promoting a conscious, healthy, self-sustainable way of life based on community ethics, shared values, peaceful co-existence and a profound, harmonious spiritual connection between all beings. Our project focuses primarily upon teaching people how to cultivate, forage, consciously buy and mindfully prepare food for themselves and their families. Our main objectives are based upon a philosophy of peaceful (Ahimsa) co-existence with nature and other species as part of our everyday existence and community ethic. - Culinary aspects focus chiefly upon food preparation and nutritional education geared toward transitioning people toward a more plant-based diet and planet-friendly lifestyle. - Agricultural aspects of our project place emphasis on heirloom and organic gardening practices from an ahimsa and environmentally sound perspective. Our collective is eager to combine forces with other community service-oriented organisations on any edible gardening projects, classes and educational services related to such. We are also interested in closely connecting with local farmers and other eco-friendly businesses within our local communities to cross-promote and help one another to best serve those striving to attain similar goals.
