Hanging Out In The D (HOD) was founded to help spotlight African American businesses in Detroit Metro. We believe empowering African American business owners creates healthier, more vibrant, solvent communities. We drive more consumers to African American businesses with multi-platform advertising and marketing. Our goal is to support entrepreneurs and business owners through creative promotions and marketing, to include free business directory and event listings in print, online and via a mobile app (exploring development options), our bicycle-powered mobile billboards, and social media platforms. HOD seeks to inspire and create a healthier job market for writers, photographers, graphic designers, billboard drivers, social media marketers, creatives, and canvassers. HOD's vision is to create a more interconnected community culturally, socially, and economically; weaving information about entertainment and events, technological and innovative advancements, entrepreneurial activity among the youth, and highlighting contributions from non traditional home based and micro-businesses that contribute to the vivid fabric of our communities.
