GreenMomentum Inc. is a market intelligence firm focused on the Latin American cleantech and energy industries. We focus on the design, implementation and financing of economic development opportunities in Mexico and Latin America through entrepreneurship and innovation. GreenMomentum provides market intelligence and expert advice to policy makers, international development agencies, corporations and startup companies interested in participating in Mexico’s fast growing cleantech and energy industries. Since 2010 GreenMomentum organizes Cleantech Challenge Mexico, an annual business plan competition and 6-month acceleration process for entrepreneurs and cleantech startup companies. It includes an intensive 120-hour capacity building program, an MIT-certified mentoring program and a specialized training program for new CEOs and CFOs, focused on strengthening interpersonal and presentation skills, with an emphasis on raising capital, customer acquisition and market development. In 2012, GreenMomentum and Cleantech Challenge Mexico were recognized by the White House as “Champions of Change”, and invited in 2017 to present our achievements and progress at a close-door event sponsored by the White House and hosted by the US Department of Transportation. In 2014, US Secretary of State John Kerry recognized Cleantech Challenge Mexico as a “key innovation engine” during a keynote address during his visit to Mexico City. In 2014 GreenMomentum created the National Mentorship Network, subsequently certified by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Venture Mentoring Service (MIT-VMS). In 2015 GreenMomentum co-founded the Network for Global Innovation (NGIN) together with the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator, sponsored by the governments of Los Angeles and Mexico City. In 2017, GreenMomentum received Mexico´s National Entrepreneurship Institute’s dual accreditation as specialized High Impact Incubator and Accelerator. Currently headquartered in Mexico City, GreenMomentum is a for-profit organization, with a positive balance sheet and more than 40 employees, including experts in innovation, entrepreneurship, economic development and international relations.
