History of bangkok glass Incorporated in 1974, Bangkok Glass, granted promotional privileges by the Office of the Board of Investment (BOI), was registered with a capital of 140 million (THB). By early 1980, Bangkok Glass’ first glass-bottling plant was completed in the district of Thanyaburi in Pathumthani province with a 150-ton furnace and capability of producing as much as a million bottles per day. These figures have grown exponentially since then, and over the decades, Bangkok Glass has expanded its production capacity to five plants in key districts of Thailand’s major provinces. In addition to Phathumthani (now three furnaces), production facilities have been established in the Klang district of Rayong (two furnaces); Uthai district of Ayutthaya (four furnaces); Muang district of Khon Kaen (two furnaces); and Ban Sang district of Prachinburi (one furnace). Bangkok Glass now boasts a full range of packaging materials and containers with its diversified product lines encompassing the varying needs of both domestic and international markets. Under the operation of affiliates, products now include crate containers; polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles; plastic closures, boxes and caps; corrugated cartons and boxes; as well as crown and twist-off caps, among others. Since its inception, Bangkok Glass’ registered capital has elevated to an astounding 2.85 billion (THB). A new factory is currently under construction in the Photaram district of Ratchaburi, its projected completion date set for 2015. All the while, Bangkok Glass shows an astute eye for the needs and demands of its market while simultaneously being an exemplary business model for its care for the well- being of its employees and the conservation of the environment. Today, Bangkok Glass is recognized as Thailand’s largest provider of glass & packaging, and is at the forefront among its contemporaries in Asia.
