CommUniverCity SJSU
www.cucsj.orgCommUniverCity San José believes that everyone deserves to live in vibrant, healthy, and engaged communities. Every day we work with residents to develop great neighborhoods, because no one’s opportunities in life should be limited by the place where they live. We do this by engaging residents and students in service-learning projects that accomplish neighborhood-driven goals through a cross-sector partnership with the City of San José, the residents of Central San José neighborhoods, and San José State University students. CommUniverCity creates and supports community action projects that: • Provide rich educational opportunities for residents of all ages that promote a “college going” culture and instill a desire for life-long learning. • Strengthen the community’s capacity to bring about vibrant, healthy, and engaged neighborhoods. CommUniverCity San José strives to create, support, and enrich sustainable community service-learning projects in the following areas: • College-Going Culture • Community Health • Neighborhood Revitalization • Self-Sufficiency • Youth Mentorship
