Founded and owned by Gabe Ellis and Matthew Ellis, Swallow Wines is a unique endeavor serving the rapidly expanding Austin metropolitan area. Swallow Wines brings the best limited production wines from the California wine region directly to Austin. The focus of this new winery is approachable elegance, where people can taste the best wine from winemakers in California without traveling or paying the high costs for a bottle. With an estimated 4,391 wineries in California, it is no surprise that there are MANY wonderful small/boutique production wines that never make it out of the state. That is why we build personal relationships with the smaller purveyors, enabling them to expand their reach into one of the hottest markets in the country without losing the personality of their wine. Our vision is to provide a platform for small/boutique wine producers that don't distribute and underrepresented voices (LGBTIA+, Women, BIPOC) in the winemaking community to share a fresh perspective that will lead to a new era of innovation and creativity, drawing in a new customer base.
