Youth Employment Readiness Program (YERP)
www.yerp.caYouth Employment Readiness Program (YERP) is a 25-week, 2 phase employment program for youth ages15-29. YERP has been helping youth in the Durham Region create a personal plan for success and education and/or employment path since 2009. Young adults are guided through self-assessments, essential workplace readiness skills (such as time and task management, teamwork, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution and more), and enhanced employment search activities. YERP is offered on a continuous intake basis, with minimum wage at 30 hours per week during the training phase, and $6720 in employment subsidy for employers in the second phase. Funded in part by the Government of Canada.
