The current approach to EV charging infrastructure has not been thought through. This approach has been to replicate the design of the petrol pump which is over a 100 years old, replacing a tank and two pumps with a charging station with two charging points. Problems include: - They stick out like sore thumbs and will lead to clutter in our cities; - They are expensive and time consuming to install; and - They lack innovation We believe chargers can seamlessly blend into their surroundings and be integrated into existing infrastructure. Turning eye sores into minimalist, stylish and highly functional designs that add to the streetscape. Through our collaboration with UCD, Bolt has developed a solution to the issues outlined above. Rather than charging two EV’s per power source, our technology allows multiple EV’s to be charged from a single source resulting in a simple, more cost effective way to offer fast charging facilities to EV users. Also, our smart chargepoint extenders: - Efficiently manage the flow of electricity minimising demand on the network; - Can negotiate access and payments using blockchain enabling simple monetisation; - Occupy less space and have more design flexibility than our competitors offerings.
