The Academy of Sports Performance (ASP) (RTO code 41102) provides programs that cater for aspiring student athletes, enabling them to gain the knowledge, academic skills, sports skills and strength and conditioning to reach their maximum sporting potential. We create the opportunity for athletes to excel in their sport whilst obtaining a management qualification that is contextualised to sporting organisations. For those aspiring to become professional athletes or who just wish to reach their maximum potential in their chosen sport, ASP’s program will give them the best chance of achieving these outcomes. Athletes learn best through seeing and doing. Through our consultation with industry leaders it has been apparent that employers are seeking employees who can hit the ground running. With this in mind we have designed our course to involve the application of the principles learnt, not just about memorizing the key concepts. At the academy students train like a full time professional athlete, with top coaches and facilities. This gives them first-hand experience of what it takes to succeed in a professional environment. In addition, they complete a dual diploma delivered by lecturers with real world experience in sport and business. This knowledge is then applied to live projects around sports development, marketing and organisational projects, to build a CV that ensures when they complete the course not only do they have theoretical knowledge, they also the all important industry experience.
