Sisters in Sync
www.sistersinsync.orgSisters in Sync (SIS) is a non-profit organization that aims to support girls and women through life’s many stages by offering support in education, mental health, financial literacy, and day-to-day challenges. We are advocates and change-makers; encouraging our sisters to share their experiences and reclaim their narratives. Founded in 2018 by Joëlle Kabisoso, SIS serves as a community hub offering a wide range of workshops and peer-led initiatives with a strong focus on creating safe gathering spaces to learn, exchange and grow in sisterhood. Our mission is to bridge the gap between girls and women's lived experiences. Our approach is to focus on those diverse lived experiences by using self-esteem building as the basis of our workshops and community initiatives. We provide grass root level resources to create spaces where we can identify and assess the need for intervention as it relates to intra and interpersonal relationships and the influence our upbringing and various institutions have on our self-perception. By employing assistance from social workers, teachers, psychologists, and various professionals, we equip our community with evidence-based toolkits needed to implement the growth and development of a healthy and balanced self-esteem. With "we got you sis" as our motto, our hope is to reaffirm our commitment to joining and assisting our sisters on their journey of self-discovery, healing, and resilience.
