Resilience for Charities (R4C)

www.r4c.uk

We are living in unprecedented and uncertain times, which are posing many novel and complex challenges for all sectors, including the charity sector. Many of these challenges are resilience related, in that they can expose significant gaps and vulnerabilities within your existing systems, processes, structures, and culture. In addition to their own risks that such gaps and vulnerabilities may present to your charity, these can also make it harder for you to be agile and adaptive to new or sudden changes, such as to your operating environment. An overarching goal of resilience is to help you as a charity ‘thrive’ rather than merely ‘survive’ in such circumstances. In response to such challenges, R4C undertakes resilience audits with the option of follow-up support. An audit involves: (1) Making an overall assessment about the current organisational resilience of your charity; (2) Identifying key areas of strength and weakness, focussing especially on potential risks and vulnerabilities; and (3) Recommending proposed actions and solutions in support of the audit's key findings. The primary sources of potential risk examined during an R4C audit relate to administrative, financial, human resourcing, data protection, safeguarding, health and safety, insurance, IT, business continuity and training issues. Normally, an audit will be undertaken remotely, with on-site visits by arrangement. Resilience for Charities (R4C) is the not-for-profit arm of Global Security and Disaster Management Ltd (GSDM) (a for-profit company). Our vision is two-fold: (1) To assist charities, including churches, to become more resilient; and (2) To reinvest funds generated by R4C’s services into further charitable work. For more details, see www.r4c.uk or get in touch with us at contact@r4c.uk. We would love to help you on your resilience journey.
