Metric Motors Inc. opened on April 1, 1980. After many years of working for local dealerships, I began servicing cars out of a barn in my parents’ backyard. At the time, we serviced mostly Alfa Romeos due to my love for Italian cars. Business grew steadily as a result of many word-of-mouth referrals, and not before long, we began servicing all makes and models. We became known to our neighbors as “the repair shop you can trust.” My brother worked alongside of me, in addition to two other full-time technicians. My wife then joined the team in 1989 as business continued to expand. Together, we worked to grow Metric Motors. Through marketing and maintaining our reputation for quality service, our business activity quickly exceeded our shop’s capacity. In 1995, we opened a new 10,000 square foot Auto Service Center. Our current shop environment reflects and enhances our high standards for quality service and professionalism. My wife, Arlene, continues to provide a female-friendly atmosphere that is especially uncommon in the Auto Industry. We are often referred to by our customers as the “dealer alternative,” and we pride ourselves in that. Today, the Metric Motors team has grown to 13 full-time employees– 4 of us are family-related, and others have been with us for over 20 years. So, you see, this isn’t just business... it’s personal.
