Endangered Wildlife OÜ is an award-winning ESG SaaS company that is contributing towards solving the climate crisis by using technology to demonstrate the financial value of biodiversity. We are developing the Biodiversity Valuator, the first software solution that calculates the financial value of individual species of biodiversity. It allows stakeholders to incorporate biodiversity into the strategic and investment decision-making process, and to report on biodiversity impact in a simple and understandable manner. The interest in sustainability and ESG measurement is exploding. There is significant attention directed towards carbon measurement and reporting and as a means of solving the impending climate crisis that we are all facing within a generation. But one thing that keeps being ignored is that carbon is only one small part of the story. We need to accept that the climate crisis will never be achieved without first solving the biodiversity crisis. Climate change and human activity are threatening our biodiversity, but the loss of biodiversity will only speed up the climate change. Globally, humans are so connected to nature that we need conservation not only for our biodiversity but also for our own survival. Biodiversity is often overlooked as it is not easy to understand or value, and without understanding the value, it is difficult to include biodiversity into decisions. This is the challenge we are solving - how to integrate biodiversity into decisions, and to eliminate the confusion around understanding biodiversity and biodiversity measurements through a common language - money. We are the first to be doing this on a large scale. In 2021, our CEO was an active speaker at the Natural Capital Summit, the Reuters Sustainable Finance and Reporting event, and at Collision.
