Quartetto di Brescia
www.quartettodibrescia.comBrescia, a Lombardy city with more than a thousand years of history, paid a huge tribute to the covid-19 epidemic that hit this beautiful land. Here, as a sign of strength, and courage, and resilience, four well established trombonists, internationally known as the Mascoulisse Quartet felt necessary to bring the name of their city to Italy and to the world. So, during the summer of 2020, the Quartetto di Brescia was re-born. With the intent to enhance the city itself by assisting it in its social, cultural and artistic challenges that lie ahead. The occasion for the Quartetto di Brescia’s debut is in September 2020 at the Terre Moretti festival, the company based in Franciacorta that is a reference point for construction, wine and hospitality. The other motivation is the desire to give the best to Brescia and Bergamo Italian Capitals of Culture in 2023. Therefore the Mascoulisse Quartet - graduates in Trombone with full marks at the Conservatories "Luca Marenzio" of Brescia - changed its name to Quartetto di Brescia but not its essence of making music, with that joy that for over ten years it has transmitted to the audience of about eight hundred concerts throughout Italy, Europe, United States, Hong Kong, Macao and Oman. Always with innovative programs, as soloists with orchestras and bands, and even in trombone octets. The Quartetto boasts collaborations with internationally renowned artists, among others those with Stefan Schulz (Berliner Philharmoniker), Michel Becquet, Christian Lindberg, Vincent Lepape, Eleonora Buratto.. The Quartetto has won numerous international awards and since 2011 organizes the Masterbrass Festival, taking on the triple role of teacher, organizer, and soloist all while hosting and playing alongside the greatest performers of the brass world. Furthermore, it regularly holds seminars and masterclasses at Conservatories and more.
