Approximately 15,000 Australians suffer an inherited retinal disease, not including age related macular degeneration. Inherited retinal disease is the leading cause of youth blindness, and blindness in the working age population, in Australia. We raise awareness and funds for scientific research into treatments and cures, and provide information and peer support for individuals and families impacted by inherited retinal diseases. Cure Blindness Australia is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission, and donations are tax-deductible.
