About: DVAA (Darwin Visual Arts Association) was formed in 1983 by a small group of Darwin artists as a not for profit organisation run by volunteers with a view to providing an arts space for local artists and skills development. Mission Statement: DVAA (Darwin Visual Arts Association)is a community based arts organisation dedicated to supporting the production, promotion and appreciation of visual arts by local artists in all media, as well as increasing public awareness and audience participation in contemporary visual art in Darwin. An Artist Run Initiative, DVAA provides excellent facilities and resources - including two gallery spaces and four artists studios, which are aimed at fostering ongoing artistic innovation and professional development for all artists in a supportive environment.
