The Royal Baths Museum is a Palace-Garden complex, the fundamental shape of which was developed by King Stanislaw August in the 18th century, who on this place created his summer residence. According to various sources, the history of this place began however, in the 13th century – in this period the area has been a dwelling spot of the Mavian princes. Other information comes from the middle of the 16th century, when Ujazdów became the property of Bona Sforza. In 1624 Sigismund III Vasa began the construction of the Ujazdów Castle, and after 1676 this property was acquired by Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski - Grand Marshal of the Crown. The first two pavilions were erected in the Park: the Eremitage (it exists today) and the Bath reshaped in the 18th century into the Palace on the Isle. In 1764 Ujazdowskie properties were bought by Stanislaw August. The most important period in the history of the Royal Baths begins.
