Sometimes real superheroes help small children fight BIG battles, and the extraordinary individuals at Little Wishes do just that! Founded by two pediatric nurses, the non-profit Little Wishes™. www.littlewishes.org allows seriously ill, hospitalized children to wish for something that will fill their heart and brighten their darkest days. Each wish provides much needed joy to ease the discomfort of long hospitalizations.  To a chronic or critically ill hospitalized child, a seemingly simple wish—a Disney princess dress, Spiderman figurines, or cozy bedding — makes a huge difference. Wishes offer a welcome distraction, brighten long days and are a tangible expression of community compassion, love and support.  What makes Little Wishes™ program unique? All wishes are granted in the hospital, and a child may make another wish 14 days after receiving their first little wish and every 14 days thereafter! Recurring wishes improve the quality of life for children enduring rigorous treatments and long hospitalization of weeks, months and even years.  Little Wishes has already enhanced the lives of thousands of children and families across a network of 31 participating hospitals throughout the country and hope to expand its program to support more children in need at local Bay Area hospitals and beyond.
