Cookalong TV (www.cookalong.tv) is a platform to host and manage a series of celebrity-led interactive cookalongs in aid of some of the world's leading charities. With the huge upswing in usage of video chat platforms, such as Zoom and Houseparty, combined with an upswing in interest of home cooking, this presents an opportunity to create a new media format and platform. Charities’ fundraising efforts have being hampered by the impact of lockdown, as traditional means of raising money through events have come to an absolute standstill. Cookalong TV is a platform which will help to support and raise money for these charities. Cookalong TV launched on Sunday, 21st June 2020, with the first celebrity event taking place on Thursday, 2nd July, hosted by The One Show presenter Alex Jones, in aid of Action for Children. This would not be possible without our amazing partners and management team, all of whom are volunteering their time and efforts. Whilst the initial focus is primarily on using Cookalong TV as a platform for charitable fundraising, a second phase of the project is currently being planned to evolve Cookalong TV to become a platform for restaurants and chefs to generate a new source of income. This next stage of Cookalong TV is expected to take place later this year. We are always keen to speak to charities who are looking for support, or talent who are keen to do a cookalong.
