New Shoe Day is a 501c3 non-profit on a mission to combat the growing mental health crisis: -1 in 5 U.S adults experience mental illness each year -1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year -1 in 5 high school students have seriously considered committing suicide -1 in 3 high school students reported persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness Our mission is clear. We will promote positive mental health, create connection and community, and empower people through movement. We will uplift the world's wellbeing by providing support and partnerships with organizations in their efforts to fight this mental health crisis, particularly among populations most at-risk for adverse health outcomes. With funding and resources we will bolster existing community-serving programs, help create new ones, and do nothing short of empowering those we serve with the positive boost of a new pair of shoes - aka New Shoe Day.
