After nearly 25 years in Melvindale, 2013 saw MVS move into their new facility in Southgate, MI. Following a 6 month renovation that included new paint from floor to ceiling, new epoxy floors, floor hoists, and a brand new paint booth, the 50,000 sq ft former Saturn dealership is Michigan Vehicle Solutions’ new home. Michigan Vehicle Solutions has expanded into the vehicle customization and fabrication market and has produced numerous show vehicles including the Jeep Sand Trooper and Jeep Wrangler Apache. This work coupled with fleet orders, such as 34 Jeep J-8s built for UN Haitian Relief efforts, development of the JK-8 kit, production of the MVS exclusive Jeep Wrangler JK-EXT, and vehicle restoration projects made a new, larger facility necessary. The new building houses a 70 foot paint tunnel, separate final finish and assembly area, and large fabrication and mechanical work space. A separate building houses the Michigan Institute of Automotive Design and Sculpting and a full service CNC machine shop.
