In 1938 Hellenic Halyvourgia established the first steel plant in Greece and one of the country’s largest industrial companies with strong commitment to responsible entrepreneurship. The historic Roupel fortress is built in Macedonia, Northern Greece using rebar made by our company. Since then, the company has been investing continuously in new technologies, upgrading and increasing its production and product range. Today Hellenic Halyvourgia has 2 state-of-the-art facilities, one in Volos and one in Athens. We produce and offer a wide range of top-quality long steel products which meet the requirements of the market and exceed the specifications of European and international standards. We have a strong presence both in the Greek construction market but also in the European reinforcing bar market since most of our production is being exported.We operate with respect to the environment, adopting the most modern practices, and we constantly improve our environmental performance. Our environmental management system has been certified since 2009 by TUV AUSTRIA HELLAS in accordance with the international standard ELOT EN ISO 14001:2015. In addition, we have been certified with the European SUSTEEL certificate since 2013, for the sustainable operation of our facilities by Bureau Veritas. Our priority is the health and safety of our people. We apply a strictly Health and Safety Management System, certified by ELOT in accordance to ISO 45001:2018 standard and a focus to continuous improvement. Our Products: Concrete Reinforcing Steel in bars and coils, wire rod, wire mesh, FitSteel engineering mesh, ForSteel & ForSteel plus mesh cages. Our Quality Management System is certified with the ISO 9001:2015 standard by ELOT.
