Kildeer, is an established small community, ranked as one of the top suburbs in which to live. Ranking is based on various livability factors; schools, amenities, services, transportation and crime. The Village is located in the southwest corner of Lake County, in Ela Township, 29 miles northwest of Chicago and neighbor to Lake Zurich, Deer Park, Long Grove, Hawthorn Woods, and Barrington. Since its incorporation in 1958, the Village's growth has been carefully and thoughtfully guided. At the present time we are nearing a population of 4,200, with approximately 1,200 residences. The entire area is comprised of custom homes, wooded areas with picturesque ponds and lakes.
