The Compline Choir
www.complinechoir.orgThe Compline Choir, a ministry of the Diocese of Olympia and Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, is a unique community of 24 laypersons with diverse beliefs that seeks to express musically a concern for the nurture and care of the soul—spiritual nourishment. The choir was founded in 1956 by Peter Hallock. Since inception, the core mission of the Compline Choir has been to perform and record liturgical and religious music for men’s voices for the edification and enjoyment of listeners; to promote and perpetuate ancient, traditional, and contemporary musical forms of worship; and, to minister to the spiritual needs of the community. All members of choir, including its director, are volunteers and freely give of their time and talents to chant the Office of Compline and support its operation. Compline is sung every Sunday at 9:30 PM (Pacific Time). Podcasts are available for download at www.complinechoir.org. The service is broadcast live on Classical KING-FM 98.1 and online at www.king.org.
