The Malta Bankers’ Association represents the interests of all the banks which are licensed to operate in Malta. Its mission is to promote an enabling environment for the banking sector through advocacy, lobbying, capacity building and networking. The Association is also responsible for supporting the industry to shape a common agenda within an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. Membership of the Association is open to all banks which are licensed to operate in Malta. The organisational set-up of the Association consists of: • The Board, which is primarily responsible for policy issues, • An Executive Committee, • A full-time Secretariat, and • A number of sub-committees and working groups which deal with specific business areas and issues. The Association also represents the local banking sector on the Board and Executive Committee of the European Banking Federation.
