Marigold was conceived and born out of Kay International, where the founders had worked together developing and servicing a successful book of international non marine treaty and facultative business. The founders set up this new and independent MGA in March 2015, following changes in the marketplace in 2014/15 and internal changes within Kay. Demonstrating its origins, Marigold began life as a UK FCA authorised and regulated Appointed Representative of Kay International. Its unusual name is meant to reach out to (re)insurance companies domiciled outside of the UK and the EU, looking for a home in the London market. Marigold flowers simultaneously evoke images of an English country garden, as well as the high days and holidays of India, where it is a much celebrated symbol at festivals. Arasay is taken from an Arabic word, meaning “beautiful flower”. We wish to reach out to our colleagues in the international market and give them feel a warm welcome, with us.
