ArtisTree Community Arts Center
www.artistreevt.orgOur community arts center provides opportunities for joyful, meaningful, and satisfying experiences of the visual arts, movement, theatre, and music through our year-round classes, workshops, camps, performances, gallery exhibits, and events. We encourage community members and visitors of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds to participate in a wide variety of art processes. Our offerings are designed to nurture each person's inherent creative capacities and raise the possibility of art as a vital force in an individual's overall growth and expressive abilities. The pastoral ArtisTree campus, set on the site of a former dairy farm with 30 acres of forest, fields, and trails, features three main buildings. The red barn hosts our beautiful Hay Loft acoustic performance space and well-appointed art studios and playrooms where we run classes for all ages, from infants to seniors. An adjacent yellow farmhouse accommodates a gallery that runs exhibits throughout the year featuring many local and regional artists. Finally, our 85-seat Grange Theatre offers everything from professional musical theater shows to summer camp performances and local productions. "I've never seen a space that's so comprehensive in what it offers in terms of classes, visual arts, the musical performances, the theater…even down to space for people to take walks through the meadow. I've never come across that, paired with the rural environment. People come from far and wide to take advantage of it." Gallery Director Adrian Tans.
