Specialist Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy (SROT) To us therapy is all about empowering the individual we are working with to take over our job and become the expert in their condition, any remaining disabilities. We strongly believe the most effective therapists are the ones that are forgotten six months after their input has finished, because the person feels they have done the work, they have achieved their goals and not been ‘done to’ by a professional. We do this by using occupational therapy as a therapeutic tool, prioritising the client’s needs. Firstly we reduce the stress and impact of the injury by ensuring good provision of care and support in the early stages. This allows us to progress onto the next stage which is about utilising hands on therapy to maximise function, reduce care requirements, and explore work and productivity options. The final stage is all about ensuring the client is confident and has control of their life and ongoing recovery so that we can systematically withdraw. Safe in the knowledge that the person has all the tools and services they need in place to lead a positive and meaningful life. We work with individuals who are referred from a number of sources, including insurers and solicitors, employers, case managers or by the person themselves.
