Health Care Solutions (HCS) was created by Kristin Ball Motley, a pharmacist, who sees, first-hand, problems associated with the under-management of chronic diseases, medication non-adherence, and use of multiple medications. She was especially motivated to start HCS after seeing the financial burdens of medication costs on her grandmother and her friend's mother. Her grandmother would often complain about the high cost of her medications. Additionally, she would not take her medications because she did not feel they were important. Her friend's mom has open heart surgery and could not to afford to pay for her medications when she was discharged from the hospital. These instances, and many others, fueled Kristin's desire to create a company to assist those with problems related to medications. She wanted to use her expertise and skills to help people save money on medications and teach the importance of taking medications appropriately. It is her hope that if people can afford medications and are well informed about how to manage their diseases, they will live healthier lives. She strongly believes in the words often said by her pastor, "When you know better, you do better." In 2013, HCS expanded work with companies that areinterested in saving money on health care and related costs by helping employees with issues related to medications and overall health. HCS provides unique on-site services, including flu shot clinics, health screenings, health seminars, weight management programs and others to improve the workplace health culture. HCS is committed to supporting the community in which we serve. Therefore, we partner with local and regional 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations to provide donations. In addition to providing financial contributions, we donate our resources, our talent and our time. HCS was founded on the guiding principles of helping those in need. It is only natural that we carry these principles into our Corporate Responsibility efforts.
