As a non-profit student-run volunteer organization, C4T aims to improve the quality of lives of underprivileged and underrepresented kids across the Bay Area. Though we are based in the Silicon Valley, we want to bring to light the scores of students who don't have access to technology or the room to develop the technological skills needed in the modern world. This way we share our coding background with a young age group that may not enjoy the same opportunities. Due to COVID-19, this summer C4T is operating remotely and teaching coding courses via group video calls. Our passionate and encouraging team of teachers and volunteers still manage to keep the classes engaging and fun for students, despite the obstacles that come with teaching from home. Since our first web design workshop with 2 volunteers and 12 students at the Seven Trees Public Library in 2017, our organization has grown to hire 15 student volunteers, operate at 6 teaching centers, and change the lives of approximately 942 kids in the Bay Area.
