A full service fire and rescue department located in Northern Wake County, near I-540 and Leesville Rd, in Raleigh, NC. Serving since 1964, Durham Highway Fire and Rescue runs nearly 1,000 calls a year within the county, as well as with the city of Raleigh and RDU International airport spanning fire, vehicle accidents, and EMS/Medical calls. Durham Highway is a combination fire department staffed with 3 shifts of full-time firefighters (NC FF and EMT Cert) and volunteer firefighters, many whom reach NC FF and EMT Cert. in addition to their volunteer commitments with DHFD and full-time jobs.
