University of Portland Pamplin School of Business
www.up.eduThe Dr. Robert B. Pamplin, Jr. School of Business was founded in 1939, and is one of only five schools of business in Oregon accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Our goal is to provide students with innovative, challenging educational experiences that go beyond business fundamentals to develop the leadership skills and knowledge required for successful careers. This mission challenges the Pamplin School of Business to provide each student with: - opportunities to obtain a comprehensive understanding of business; - state-of-the-art curricula taught by highly motivated and concerned faculty who are on the leading edge of their disciplines; and - the leadership skills needed to manage organizations -- communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and utilization of technology -- taught in global and ethical contexts. The Pamplin Professional Preparation Program (P4) provides students with the tools they need, early in their academic careers, to discover what they want to explore now and into the future. The program guides each student toward that career through job shadows and internships. Students are engaged as soon as they arrive on campus, beginning with analyzing their strengths and interests so they can identify and pursue a career they will truly enjoy and continuing their professional growth through speed networking and mock interviews.
