Unity Co-operative Society is a Category ll Micro-Finance Institution which came into being on the 15th of January 2000. The institution was initiated by a group of Cameroonians of various professional backgrounds. From its humble beginning downtown Yaoundé with one sales point and two employees, the Institution has, in over eighteen years, been able to achieve sustainable profitability and established itself as one of the fastest growing financial institutions in the country with a total enrollment of over 120 Employees, all categories included. From creation, we “co-operate to solve future economic problems through present day decisions and actions, thereby producing viable citizens capable of living creatively in society”. We therefore combine a social development mission – provision of financial services to all categories of people and businesses – with a financial objective that drives the institution to achieve self-sufficiency and thereby .accomplish sustained and profitable service delivery. Beyond this, we equally work towards poverty alleviation through the uplifting of the rural sector through the financing of agricultural and small scale commercial projects. In recent years our activities have grown to include the financing of public infrastructure projects, all in a bid to further drive macro-economic growth in Cameroon. In addition, we have made significant investments in the financing of the security service industry, in the wake of the heightened security challenges the country has been facing in recent years
