SCARPA is a company specialized in the production of outdoor shoes for mountaineering, climbing, trail running, trekking, hiking, ski mountaineering and telemark. It was founded in 1938 in Asolo, in the Treviso area, as Società Calzaturieri Asolani Riuniti Pedemontana Anonima (hence the acronym S.C.A.R.P.A.). Today SCARPA has business offices in Italy, USA, Germany and China and production plants in Romania, Serbia and China. 70% of the production still takes place in Italy, in the heart of the sportsystem district.
