The California Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) was established over 50 years ago by the Santa Clara County medical community. A group of physicians and researchers recognized the need for a regional organization to facilitate and promote medical research. CIMR is administered by a Board of Directors and advised by a Board of Regents that are composed of community leaders. CIMR is recognized for its innovative research programs and major discoveries. CIMR provides researchers with grant management, administrative support, and a licensed facility that includes an animal facility and BSL-3 laboratory. The spectrum of research includes laboratory basic science and clinical studies.
