Colorado Solidarity Fund’s mission is to invest in Colorado’s solidarity economy and build economic education among our members while abiding by the values of collective power, equity, community, and inclusivity. CSF invests in locally-owned cooperative and worker-owned businesses to help build and strengthen Colorado’s solidarity economy. We recognize that many individuals and businesses have faced systemic barriers to acquiring capital and traditional lenders may be reluctant to lend to cooperative businesses. CSF hopes to assist those community-based businesses by using our collective power of investment to foster a more equitable and inclusive lending environment through flexible, lower-interest loans. ----- Why do people join Colorado Solidarity Fund? ----- Our members want to divest from corporate finance. Our members want to invest in local businesses. Our members believe in the cooperative business model. Our members want to see more worker-owned businesses. Our members want to learn about investing in a supportive environment. Our members value the way that investment clubs distribute risk. ----- What is a cooperative? ----- A cooperative or co-op is a business where equity and governance are separated so that every member has one vote regardless of their economic stake in the company.
