The AAVMP was founded by Asian veterinary professionals to foster a community for Asian veterinary professionals and establish a veterinary profession that reflects the diverse communities that we serve. Our mission is to empower and support Asian veterinary professionals and encourage cultural awareness in a diverse society. The AAVMP upholds the following core values: - Representation: To increase visibility of Asian professionals within the veterinary community, fill leadership positions, and motivate future generations, - Mentorship: To foster success for Asian pre-veterinary and veterinary professionals by offering support and mentorship with the consideration of individual cultural backgrounds. - Advocacy: To advocate for the needs of our members within the veterinary profession, to provide information about minority struggles within the profession, and to highlight the value in having a diverse community. - Fellowship: To unite and support the Asian veterinary community as a whole and demonstrate our allyship alongside other affinity organizations.
