The Learning Network on Sustainability (LeNS) is a project promoting the development and collaboration of Design for Sustainability and product-service system curriculum materials for designers in Australia and New Zealand. Any educational, research or sustainability oriented institution in the Oceania / Australasian region is welcome to join the current members of LeNS Oceania network and contribute resources and assist with the further development of the LeNS project. The student project work displayed showcases a selection of design for sustainability, product service systems, eco-design and service design projects from each of the partner institutions. LeNS: The Learning Network on Sustainability is a global, multi-polar network for curricula development on Design for Sustainability focused on product-service system innovation. Initially set up as a 3 year project (2007 - 2010) LeNS is funded by the Asia Link Programme, EuropAid, European Commission, involving 7 design schools in Europe and Asia. LeNS now has chapters throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australasia. LeNS aims to contribute knowledge and experience for curriculum development, a reciprocal understanding of cultures (institutional, national, and regional), and looks to promote a new generation of designers, and design educators capable of effectively contributing to a transition towards sustainable societies.
