Professional Education Organization International (PEOI) was created, and is run by volunteers who believe that post secondary education should and can be made available to all, free of charge. PEOI offers several programs of study, each created and designed by qualified teachers, which effectively prepare students for major professions. Contrary to most online university courses, PEOI delivers university level courses without requiring students to purchase textbooks or pay tuition fees. Learning is free. Course material and instruction are offered in 10 different languages, allowing for students worldwide to participate. As of 2008, there are 3,439 students from 178 countries registered and enrolled in the online courses offered through PEOI.
