Founded in 1998 by Alex Dale, we set about the Cape wine regions in search of exciting vineyard parcels for our chosen specialist varietals. Since 2009, winemaking and viticulture has been headed up by young-gun Jacques de Klerk. We're early champions for the potential of Chenin Blanc, Elgin Pinot Noir, modern Swartland reds, and maritime influenced Stellenbosch Chardonnay. Fans of light, refreshing reds, we're working hard to reestablish and drive the gamay category here in the Cape, and are the first producers in 20 years to plant this versatile varietal. At the end of 2021, we have acquired a new home in cool-climate Elgin, and the regions only certified organic & biodynamic wine farm. An important step in our drive for sustainable farming. Stylistically, the wines focus on varietal and site expression, with the team employing a low intervention ethos in the cellar.
