Armida is a multiple-award-winning independent publisher based in Nicosia, Cyprus, and was founded in 1997. The company is a founding member of the Association of Cyprus Book Publishers (member of IPA and FEP), a member of the Independent Publishers Guild (UK) and a member of theIndependent Book Publishers Association (USA). Armida's contribution to the publishing industry is small if one only takes into account volume of sales and/or technological innovation. Where Armida is producing real work is in steadily and methodically publishing high-quality literature across the globe. Originally, Armida’s main goal was exporting Cyprus literature abroad. The company has put the literature of a small Mediterranean country on the world literary map by either producing and distributing titles into other languages or by selling translation rights to overseas publishers or by participating with great success in international book awards. If innovation is defined as the addition of a new element into an existing condition, then Armida has done just that. It has created a bridge between the world and Cyprus literature. Without throwing our Cypriot roots overboard, we have meanwhile expanded our title list and have become equally focused on the international market. We have experience with publishing books in the US, the UK, and worldwide. This way, we hope to establish ourselves as a small yet significant player on the global publishing market, producing and promoting valuable literary works. Our international publishing team helps safeguard the organic growth of these ambitions. Armida has gradually grown to be one of Cyprus's most dynamic independent traditional publishing companies with a strong global distribution network.
